Council Flies Flag For Lgbt History Month

Sunday 17th Feb 2019

Newport City Council is flying the Rainbow Flag outside the Civic Centre during February in the support of LGBT History Month.

The theme of this year's month-long event is peace, activism and reconciliation.

Councillor Debbie Wilcox, Leader of Newport City Council, said: "Flying the flag is a way of declaring that we want Newport to be a safe and inclusive city for everyone. Tolerance and understanding is key making our city a place where people can find peace and security."
