Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm a man who has been wanted since an assault on a police officer on Saturday, February 9 has now been arrested.
The 24-year-old man was arrested by Sussex Police earlier this evening. He is currently in police custody awaiting the arrival of Dyfed-Powys Police officers.
A search for the man has been ongoing since Saturday afternoon, when a police officer was assaulted after stopping a car in Synod Inn.
The officer is making steady progress in his recovery, but is still unable to return to work.
A second man who was in the car – Wayne Dobson, aged 29 – was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, criminal damage, aggravated vehicle taking and vehicle damage, and two counts of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
He has appeared at court and was remanded until his next hearing.
Chief Superintendent Peter Roderick said: “I am pleased to confirm the arrest of the outstanding man, following a long and intense operation to locate him.
“This operation has involved departments across Dyfed-Powys Police, as well as colleagues from other police forces as we focussed on locations outside our force area.
“We understand that there has been a high level of concern in our communities since the weekend, and we would like to thank the public for their patience.
“I would also like to thank all the police officers and staff who have been concerned in the operation, for their diligence, professionalism and commitment to keeping our communities safe.
“Frequent contact has been made with the injured police officer, and we wish him a speedy recovery.”
