Branded ‘A Day to Remember’, the event is set to attract thousands of visitors over the course of the weekend for a fun filled family day out to celebrate all that the armed forces community has to offer.
The greenspace will play host to a vast array of stalls ranging from trade goods, craft stalls, artisan food and drink as well as a funfair from 9am to 5pm.
Combining activities such as circus skills for children, an Army Night Vision Maze and bungee trampolines alongside vintage and modern military re-enactors and live music the event promises to have something for all the family to enjoy.
The bandstand will play host to the live music which includes performances from the Band of the Royal Welsh, Cardiff Military Wives Choir, vocalists and cadet bands which provides the perfect entertainment for the designated picnic area.
From 6pm on Saturday a Swingtime ‘At A Day To Remember’ concert will take place in the entertainment marquee, this part of the weekend is ticketed and for just £12.50 you will be transported back to the 1940’s for a spectacular evening of entertainment.
The event will also feature the official flag raising ceremony organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council in partnership with the Royal British Legion, on Sunday 23rd at 11am. The council mark the occasion each year with a community celebration to pay tribute to the Armed Forces Community in various towns across the county.
The event provides the perfect opportunity to show support to the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.
