The importance of licensing in people’s everyday lives is being highlighted with a public awareness campaign for this year’s National Licensing Week (17 to 21 June)
Now in its fourth year the Institute of Licensing's National Licensing Week highlights the significant role licensing plays in protecting consumers in everyday life - whether that be catching a taxi, buying a pint or glass of wine, giving money to a charity, getting a tattoo or a piercing, buying a pet or placing a bet in the local bookies.
Each day of the week will have a different theme and Caerphilly County Borough Council's Licensing Team will be sharing information about the work they do. The themes include positive partnerships, tourism and leisure, home and family, night time and finally business and licensing.
Councillor Eluned Stenner, Cabinet Member for Environment and Public Protection said, "We are looking to successfully highlight the work that our Licensing Team do and the daily impact it has on residents during National Licensing Week. The better the awareness of the work of the team, the better impact we can have as a Council in enforcing Licensing Regulations and Legislation".
We will also be using social media during National Licensing Week to highlight some of the daily tasks undertaken by the Licensing staff.
