This is a reminder to residents that the closing date for nominations is on the 19th of July.
Nominations have been open for the awards ceremony which recognises the efforts of enthusiastic and devoted volunteers.
The Caerphilly GAVO Volunteer Achievement Awards are organised in partnership with Caerphilly Council and provide an opportunity to recognise local people and groups who dedicate their time, energy and skills to helping others.
Volunteers can be nominated under a variety of categories including volunteering within a local charity, supporting a statutory organisation or helping others informally in their community or neighbourhood

- Environmental Volunteer
- Grass Roots Hero Mayor’s Civic Award
- Group Volunteers
- Parent Volunteer of the Year
- Personal Journey
- Trustee Volunteer
- Young Volunteer
The awards ceremony to recognise the winners and those who came are highly commended will be held in the autumn at Blackwood miners Institute.
To be considered for an award, an individual or group of volunteers must carry out their volunteering activity within the Caerphilly county borough area.
