Following the devastating flooding in Monmouthshire caused by Storm Dennis, our communities have been stepping up and doing everything they can to help people who’ve been affected.

It is this kindness and desire to help others that makes our county such a special place. Residents have been collecting donations of items such as cleaning equipment, food, clothes and pet food.

A volunteer group has been set up to help identify those people who are in need of support. If you have been affected by the flooding and are in need of practical support - or know of anybody who might - please contact the volunteers at @monflooding. They will match people who are in need with the generous offers of help that have been made and can be contacted on:

We're hearing reports pedestrians are still trying to use the Wye Bridge. The bridge has reopened to the traffic but it's off limits to people on foot. This measure has been put in place for safety reasons. Do not attempt to use the underpass or cross the A40.
