Rhyl Hotel Charged With Failure To Respond To Request For Information

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service has been working to ensure that a hotel in Rhyl meets the required legislation in relation to fire safety.

During the course of an investigation into a fire safety breach at the hotel, a company and its director were asked to provide information to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.  The request for this information was not responded to, and using legislation contained within the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, a prosecution was taken.

Earlier this month, on the 22nd of June, the Company Director was fined £2000 and the company was fined £1000 in relation to three offences relating to the failure to comply with requests for information under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Costs of over £2800 were also awarded to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
