Drugs Seized And Arrests Made During Police Raids In Northfield

Drugs were seized after police swooped on three addresses in Birmingham this morning (Thursday 11 October).

Officers carried out three early morning raids in Greaves Square, Monks Way and Long Nuke Road during a pre-planned operation. 

Class A and B drugs were recovered from two of the properties and part of what is thought to be a homemade ‘slam gun’ was discovered in a car at one of the addresses. 

Four arrests were made; a man aged 21 was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs, assault and criminal damage. Another man aged 33, was arrested on suspicion of assault of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply. A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply. And a 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and assault. They are all in custody waiting to be questioned.

Inspector Lisa Edwards from Birmingham Police, said: "This action forms part of an on-going crackdown on suspected organised crime and drugs in Birmingham.

"This was a pre-planned operation and we anticipate there will be more in the future. Drugs are harmful to our communities and a gun in the wrong hands can have potentially very serious consequences.”
