Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a theft from a cash machine in Presteigne which occurred at around 12.35am, on Tuesday, November 13.

Thieves gained access to the cash machine stealing the contents and made off from the area at speed in what is described as a dark coloured Audi or similar type vehicle. At around the same time damage was caused to the tyres of vehicles at Presteigne Police Station. It is not known whether these two incidents are connected.

DCI Martin Slevin stated:

“Police officers and crime scene investigators are at the scene making enquiries to identify suspects. There was a similar attack in Llanfair Caereinion on 31st October and we are exploring the links between these two attacks. We are working with neighbouring forces as part of the investigation and increasing patrols in areas we consider vulnerable to targeting”.

“I urge anyone who saw what happened, or has any other information that could help, to please call us on 101 and I would ask members of our communities to be vigilante and report and suspicious activity or vehicles around cash machines to the police”.
