Sandwell Sings For Success With Christmas Cd

Monday 17th Dec 2018

A talented Sandwell PCSO has helped produce a charity Christmas CD for national release having teamed up with a local school.

Oldbury neighbourhood PCSO Tina Faulkner has been hitting the high notes in her spare time with the Heartbeats Choir – a group of volunteer voices featuring Bristnall Hall Academy students, NHS staff, local councillor Carol Goult and even West Bromwich Albion mascot Baggie Bird – to raise money for regional hospitals.

The group have produced a version of classic Christmas carol ‘O Holy Night’ and sales from its release will be donated to the NHS Your Trust charity to support patient projects at hospitals in Sandwell and Birmingham.

PCSO Faulker, said: “I do a lot of work with the school and I was delighted when I was asked to take part in this CD. We had such fun producing it and I’m delighted the money will go to a fantastic cause.

“It’s so heart-warming to see members of our community getting involved and putting themselves out there to ultimately help people.”

The song was released on 26 November and is available to purchase on iTunes and Google Play and can be downloaded here.

Amanda Winwood, fundraising manager at NHS Your Trust, came up with the idea and approached a record producer. She added: “The recording is a fantastic way of raising funds for the charity. It’s the first time we have recorded a Christmas single and we believe this to be a real celebration of our community.”

NHS Your Trust is a charity which aims to enhance the experience of people using hospital services including staff, patients and their families.
