Team Gogledd, made up of staff from North Wales Police and RAF Valley, celebrated the 10th anniversary of Blue Light Card by winning the coveted Crystal Maze.
‘Battle of the Blue Lights’ saw teams from across all the emergency services being pitted against each other in the Crystal Maze Manchester.
Missing person co-ordinator Sam Roberts, Intelligence researchers Gemma Thomas and Hollie Whalley and Partnership analyst Eleanor Donkin representing North Wales Police teamed up with members from RAF Valley to form Team Gogledd
Team Leader Sam Roberts said: “We entered into the competition with no real expectation of being selected so we were taken completely by surprise when we got asked to attend. Our only strategy was to win!”
The team took part in games which were both mentally and physically challenging, requiring team work and communication.
“Despite us only meeting the other half of our team an hour prior to the competition we all worked extremely well together, supporting each other through each trail, resulting in the inevitable - winning the gold medals and being crowned Blue Light Card Champions 2018!”
“The whole day was an amazing experience, made even more enjoyable by meeting and working together with people from RAF Valley and other emergency services in a non-work based environment.”
Gemma Thomas added: “What a fantastic way to celebrate Blue Light Cards 10 year anniversary at the Crystal Maze! Down time from our busy jobs to team build with some fantastic people, who all work for emergency services.”
