A Taste Of Autumn At Harvest Fayre
Stallholders at Haverfordwest Farmers Market will be celebrating autumn at the market’s annual Harvest Fayre on Friday, 16th September.
As well as a fantastic selection of local seasonal produce, and Harvest Fayre special officers, there will be cookery demos, apple-tasting, autumn planting advice, and more.
Market manager Joe Welch said they were delighted to welcome back chef Guy Morris, who is passionate about local food and will be demonstrating a variety of autumnal recipes with produce from the market.
“Guy’s recipes are always very popular at our Harvest Fayre,” she said. “He will be holding demos from 10.30am onwards and there will be plenty of delicious tasters on offer and inspiring recipe ideas.”
Visitors to the Fayre can also enjoy the taste of home-grown apples with Ffynnonston Organics from Fishguard, who will be bringing old-fashioned varieties of apples to sample and buy. They will also have freshly-pressed apple juice for sale and hopefully some fresh figs!
David Baster, resident horticulturist, will have a wonderful mixture of plants for sale and will be offering ideas and advice on autumn planting. David is a keen environmentalist and will have a selection of wildlife objects for a ‘show, guess and tell’ session for anyone with an interest in nature.
Come and see what you can create with recycled materials in free recycling craft workshops, or have a go at making your own corn dollies or willow creations, with expert advice.
There’s fun for children thanks to Stuart from ‘Little Monsters’ who will be making fantastical balloon creations just for them, with a free balloon for every child.
Live music will be provided by Matt Baker (from the Tiddly) and Maya, plus acoustic musician Oli Sharpe.
And don’t miss the fun Harvest Fayre Quiz with a first prize of a £30 voucher to spend at the market and a runner-up prize of a £15 voucher!
The Harvest Fayre is at Riverside Shopping, Haverfordwest, on 16th September from 9am to 2pm.
