Fishguard Coaches Score A Hat-Trick!

Three coaches from Fishguard Sports Girls FC have won their respective categories at the FAW Community Football Awards ‘West Region’. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Mathew Lamb won Coach of the Year, and Ben Leahy and Zac Davies – both sixth form pupils at Ysgol Bro Gwaun – won the Young Volunteer Category. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The three coached the Fishguard girls’ teams to an unprecedented league treble last season, with all teams winning their respective age groups. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Mathew, Ben and Zac fought off competition from over 140 nominees from across West Wales to win their categories. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

They will now go on to the national vote which will be chosen by a panel including Chris Coleman, manager of the Wales team. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
