Tenby Pedestrianisation Scheme Closes For 2016

This year’s pedestrianisation of Tenby’s walled town finishes on Friday, September 16th. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

It is the 2nd year that the scheme has operated for an extended period following the Long Course Weekend up to the Ironman weekend and is now a permanent feature following a successful trial in 2015. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The trial was introduced following a consultation exercise with residents and businesses and looks to support local business and Town Council initiatives aimed at regenerating the Town Centre. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The operating hours of the scheme were also extended by 30 minutes a day, prohibiting non-essential vehicles from entering the town’s walls between 11am and 5.30pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
