New windfarm plans proposed east of Cwmcarn

news.wales / newyddion.cymru

PLANS for a potential windfarm with four turbines east of Cwmcarn have been unveiled.
The turbines, up to 180 metres tall, would be located on grassland east of Abercarn and the A467, north of the Cwmcarn Forest scenic drive.
Torfaen and Caerphilly Borough Councils have been asked, by the developers, for their opinions on whether the application, which also covers the associated infrastructure, would require an environmental assessment.
The application has been submitted to Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW) which will consider it and make a recommendation to a Welsh Government minister to determine the outcome.
Most of the land is within the Caerphilly unitary authority area other than one kilometer of an access track which would be shared with the proposed Mynydd Maen windfarm, west of Cwmbran, that is also being considered by PEDW.
The developers are expected to hold a public consultation before further plans are submitted. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
