Residents Asked For Their Support At Next Crime Reduction Meeting

As part of its annual campaign to reduce crime levels within the county, the Ceredigion Community Safety Partnership is inviting residents to attend a public meeting of the Full Partnership and Strategy Group, at 1.30pm in the Council Chamber, Penmorfa, Aberaeron, on Friday 13 May, 2016.
​This meeting will provide the public with a progress review of Community Safety in Ceredigion, covering topics such as local crime reduction targets; progress in relation to recommendations outlined in the 2015/16 Strategic Assessment, and recommendations of the new Strategic Assessment 2016/17. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

In addition, the group maintains a strategic overview on matters affecting community safety within Ceredigion, monitors performance and delivery, and gives guidance and direction on behalf of the Public Service Board when responding to issues that are giving, or have given, concern. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Miss Bronwen Morgan, Chief Executive of Ceredigion County Council and Chair of the Ceredigion Community Safety Partnership stated: “These meetings are an excellent opportunity for residents to gain a full appreciation of the true picture of crime and disorder within the county. The Public Service Board and Ceredigion Community Safety Partnership are proud of their achievements to date in terms of reducing crime and disorder, but are not complacent, and continue to carefully monitor progress, trends and developments to not only maintain but, wherever possible, to improve community safety within the County.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Topics discussed at the meeting will also assist the group to put forward local priorities to in connection with the Police and Crime Plan. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Partnership and Strategy Group is made up of the following organisations: Ceredigion County Council, Dyfed Powys Police, Hywel Dda University Health Board, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, National Probation Service, Community Rehabilitation Company Wales, Dyfed Powys Area Planning Board for Substance Misuse. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
