UPDATE – Serious RTC Sydney Rees Way, Haverfordwest

Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Unit are continuing to investigate a serious RTC that occurred on Sydney Rees Way, Haverfordwest at approx. 3.45pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday March 19). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

A BT van (white Ford Transit) left the road and mounted the pavement and collided with three pedestrians – a female adult and two children. An 8 year old boy was conveyed to Withybush hospital in the first instance, but later transferred to the Heath hospital in Cardiff. He remains there in a serious but stable condition. The woman and girl were conveyed to Withybush hospital with minor injuries, but released a short time later. The male driver of the van was taken to Withybush hospital as a precaution. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The road was closed but reopened at approximately 10pm last night. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the van on Sydney Rees Way just prior to the collision or the collision itself to contact PC 492 Stephen Thomas by calling 101. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
