The increase in car parking permit prices introduced in 2015 was the first increase for some considerable time. It was identified that further increases would be necessary over the coming years to ensure that the costs are fully covered. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cabinet Member for Highways, Councillor John Brunt said: “The increase in car parking permits have been kept to a minimum following agreement last year that these would be brought in over a three year period. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“These permits are available for one month, three, six and twelve months and represent considerable value against daily ticket purchases, the twelve month permit being based on a 56% reduction based on a forty-six week, five day week usage price, but available for the full twelve months.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
