Visit Wales’ EPIC art installation is now at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre as part of its tour of Wales. Its visit to the county has been welcomed by Powys County Council. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The giant mirrored letters, which has turned heads and appeared in countless selfies over the last two weeks, is part of Visit Wales’ marketing campaign to promote Wales as an adventure destination. It will pop up unannounced at locations across Wales over the summer. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The innovative travelling art installation has been produced with a mirror coating designed to reflect the beauty of the Welsh landscape. It will act as a focal point for visitors’ selfies and is designed to encourage image and content sharing on social media using the campaign hashtag #FindYourEpic. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr Avril York, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “We’re delighted that this stunning art installation has come to Powys and to a part of the county where adventure can be found in abundance. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“The Elan Valley is a fitting setting for the EPIC installation and the timing of it couldn’t be better. There are a wealth of events being held in Powys in the coming weeks including Brecon Jazz Weekend, the award-winning and independent music and arts festival, Green Man and the famous World Bogsnorkelling Championships. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“We also have the iconic Tour of Britain cycle race coming back to the county next month when Powys hosts a stage finish for the first time. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“These are just a small number of the events that take place in Powys. Combined with our stunning scenery, it prove that Powys is an epic place to visit and enjoy.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
