Neighbourhood Management Toolkit Available

A toolkit has been produced by the county council to help tackle quality of life issues in Powys communities, it has been announced. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The toolkit is part of Powys County Council’s Neighbourhood Management initiative, a multi-agency way of working with communities. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Neighbourhood Management toolkit will help facilitate a problem-solving approach to the issue identified and ensure the appropriate agencies are engaged to achieve a resolution. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Cllr Avril York, Cabinet Member responsible for Stronger Communities, said: “In strong communities people are in touch, talk to and help each other out. They are more likely to feel that they belong and have a sense of pride about where they live. With reduced public sector funding, it is important we work together to develop resilient sustainable communities both in rural and urban areas. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Neighbourhood Management can be a valuable tool to enable communities and local services to improve outcomes by joining up local services and making them more responsive to local needs.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
