LSN Diffusion Expands Its Operation In Ammanford To Meet Worldwide Demand For Its Hi-Tech Products

LSN Diffusion Ltd is expanding in Ammanford, increasing manufacturing capacity with support from the Welsh Government that will create and safeguard jobs. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Established in 2012 with Welsh Government support, LSN Diffusion Ltd is a joint venture company 75% Welsh owned with an Indian partner. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The company manufactures hi-tech metallurgical products used worldwide in high applications including defence, aerospace and automotive equipment, waste to energy power plants, oil and gas exploration and production, dentistry and additive manufacture (3D printing). ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Nearly 90% of the products are exported and to meet growing demand from around the world the company decided to increase manufacturing capacity either at the Cilyrychen, Llandybie plant or in Nagpur India where the JV partner Diffusion Engineers is located. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Welsh Government offered a funding package to assist in securing the investment for Wales, which will create six and safeguard a further six skilled jobs and retain LSN Diffusion’s core Intellectual Property in Wales. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Economy Cabinet Secretary Ken Skates said: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“LSN Diffusion is a rapidly growing engineering company working in one of our key sectors and invests significantly in research and product development. The company’s prowess is recognized across the world by blue chip hi-tech engineering businesses in the US, EU, China, Japan & Korea who value LSN Diffusion’s ability to prototype and bespoke alloy powder products helping to support and promote Wales’ capability on the world stage”. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Philip Allnatt, LSN Diffusion’s Managing Director, said: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“I am pleased the Welsh Government is supporting this latest investment and expansion that will ensure our continued and sustainable growth in Wales and underpin more than 60 high skilled jobs.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

LSN Diffusion’s output increased by 15% in 2015 and with the additional investment and equipment will grow by a further 17% pa in 2016 and 2017. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The company buys products and services from a number of Wales based suppliers and the investment will create benefits for the wider economy. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
