Tenants Create Communal Garden

Green fingered Council tenants from Holyhead have put grant funding to good use by creating a communal garden to be proud of.
Tenants at Llwyn Briscoe successfully bid for, and were recently awarded Anglesey Housing Services’ Environmental and Community Improvement fund (ECIF) grant.
The aim of the ECIF is to support County Council’s tenants to make their area a better place to live.
Llwyn Briscoe tenants felt that planters would improve the appearance of their communal garden, and benches would provide an opportunity to create a closer community.
With the grant funding and support from Cymell (a Holyhead based business), tenants purchased three benches and nine bespoke planters for their garden.
To celebrate the successful application Llwyn Briscoe tenants organised a gardening day, Anglesey Tenant Participation Officer, Jodie Davies said, “The day was a great success, it was an opportunity for all the tenants to get involved and take a pride in their garden which is exactly what we hope to achieve with the fund.”
“I’d also like to thank Cllr Robert Llewelyn Jones, Môn Communities First, and Cymell for helping the tenants on the day with the planting.”
She added, “This new and improved space will hopefully make a real difference in the community.”
