Footage of this act of kindness towards Patchy the horse was captured on camera by owner Erin Connor of Prestatyn and has now gone viral – with 15,741 people liking the post, 6,516 shares and it has generated 135 comments to date. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Refuse worker John Shone showed his act of kindness through pulling the refuse lorry to one side, switching off his engine to avoid scaring the horse and even got out of the cab to feed a carrot to the horse. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Erin said: “It is nice to show people that there are kind and tolerant drivers out there and I feel that John went above and beyond the call of duty by showing such an act of kindness and consideration to our safety. I was so touched that I felt it needed to be shared on social media and I have been overwhelmed by the response”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Jim Espley of Denbighshire Environmental Services, said: “We were delighted to have this footage brought to our attention. Our refuse collectors come across all kinds of situations in their day to day duties and are often seen travelling along narrow roads. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“John has shown a real act of kindness in this situation and we are delighted that it has generated such interest on social media”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
