Counting Down The Days Until Café R Re-Opening
Preparations are being made ahead of the official re-opening of Café R at Ruthin Craft Centre – due to open its doors to the public in early May.
Denbighshire County Council has stepped in to run the café after the previous leaseholders decided to end their tenancy at the end of last year.
The refurbished facility includes updated kitchen facilities, new furniture in a new customer relaxation area and an exciting brand new menu to tickle the taste buds.
Jamie Groves, Head of Facilities, Assets and Housing, said: “This is a brand new start for Café R. When the previous tenants announced they were leaving, the Council made a commitment to reinstating a café service at the Craft Centre as soon as possible. It is a vital part of the offer at the Craft Centre and the response from the public when it closed show how the café is valued in the local community.
The Council has been working tirelessly to get a café up and running and has decided to use its own catering service to set up at Café R, with a chef, assistant chef, catering assistants and waiting on staff already employed.
“Designs are being drawn up to create better outdoor eating areas and Café R will be an ideal location for lunch, snacks or simply for those looking for a coffee. The menu has been designed by our catering staff, in association with our new chef and front of house staff.
“Over the next few weeks, we will be putting the finishing touches to the café, ready for the start of a brand new chapter in its history”.
The facility will open on Monday, 9 May at 10am.
