Craft Centre Director Awarded MBE

The Council has issued a statement, congratulating the Director of Ruthin Craft Centre, Philip Hughes for receiving an MBE. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Councillor Hugh Evans OBE, Leader of Denbighshire, said: “The Council is thrilled at the news that Philip has been awarded the MBE. He has made a significant contribution to the world of arts, especially at Ruthin Craft Centre. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“He is well- renowned for his experience in his field and has a global reputation for his wealth of experience and commitment. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“He was instrumental in the development of Ruthin Craft Centre in recent years and has attracted high profile commissions and exhibitions that has transformed Ruthin Craft Centre into the leading centre for the applied arts in Wales. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
