A former Denbigh café could be converted into a dog grooming service.
Ruthin-based Steven Rowlands has applied to Denbighshire County Council’s planning department, seeking permission to convert the building at Chirbury House, Back Row, Denbigh.
The building was formerly used as the Glass Onion café but has remained vacant since the business closed in February 2023.
Mr Rowlands says he hopes to lease the building if the application is approved by the council to convert the property from category A1 to A3.
No structural changes to the building are proposed, nor parking provision.
According to the planning application, the dog grooming business would create employment opportunities, but it isn’t stipulated how many jobs.
The operating hours would be Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm and closed Sundays and bank holidays.
The planning application will likely be decided by planning officers or will be discussed at a future Denbighshire planning committee meeting at the council’s Ruthin County Hall HQ. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
