Line Up Confirmed For Military Celebration Event

Denbighshire County Council is delighted to confirm the line –up for the North Wales Armed Forces Day celebration, being hosted at Bodelwyddan Castle on Saturday, 18th June. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

This is a free military themed event for the whole family and will be open from 11am-4pm. The event is being co-ordinated by Denbighshire on behalf of all North Wales authorities. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The line-up includes: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

  • Parade with the Royal Welsh Band at 12pm followed by Drumhead Service
  • Military village with vehicles and displays
  • RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team
  • Flypasts by Dakota and Griffin military aircraft
  • East Coast FMX Bike Team
  • Rockwood dog display team
  • Anglesey Hussars
  • Closing flag ceremonies
  • Various family friendly activities including circus skills workshop and riders
  • Book of Remembrance exhibition in the Castle.

The closing flag lowering ceremony will be supported by two local cadet force bands to add a local flavour to the ceremony. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Free parking will be available, with catering and refreshments also on sale on site. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Councillor Hugh Irving, Denbighshire’s Cabinet Lead Member for Communities, who is also the Council’s Armed Forces Champion, said: “We are delighted to confirm the activities for the Armed Forces Day. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“The Council is working with a whole range of individuals and groups to make this a day to remember. The focus is very much on celebrating the dedication and commitment of our armed forces in a fun, family friendly atmosphere. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
