New Detached Homes Approved in Cyffylliog Despite Community Objections

Planning permission was granted for seven new detached homes in Cyffylliog, despite objections from the community council.
Roberts Homes Ltd submitted a planning application to Denbighshire County Council’s planning department for homes at land at Llys Heulog, Cyffylliog, Ruthin.
The plans were discussed at a planning committee meeting this week at the council’s Ruthin County Hall HQ and included four four-bedroom and three three-bedroom homes, which would be connected to the main sewer.
The plans include access from a nearby field that connects the site to a minor road to the north of the land, including a 5.2m-wide carriageway as well as a 2m path along the southern edge.
But Cyffylliog Community Council objected to the plans, complaining that the road access was not wide enough.
The community council also complained about a lack of affordable housing.
Planning officers, though, were satisfied that access was sufficient and recommended the committee granted permission for the new homes.
Denbighshire County Council also reached an agreement in which the developer would pay £139,086.64 as a sum towards affordable homes in the area.
Cllr Elfed Williams proposed councillors backed the plans, this was seconded by Cllr Merfyn Parry, and the committee voted unanimously in favour of granting permission for the homes. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
