Flintshire’s Dragons’ Den Style Event Took Place

Flintshire’s very own Dragons’ Den style event took place at Coleg Cambria on Friday 26 February. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

This free event was aimed at people who want to be their own boss or need help becoming an entrepreneur. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The event was a success with 7 entrepreneurs attending to pitch their idea to the Dragons and they all received positive feedback. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Dragons who supported the event and volunteered their time were Askar Sheibank CEO Comtek Network Systems, Christine Sheibani HR Director Comtek Network Systems, Dave Fildes Managing Director Dfs4 SME Business Consultants & Mentors and Mike Scott from Mike Scott Associates. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Councillor Derek Butler, Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “I’m delighted that this event was a great success. The support and advice given at events such as these to these budding entrepreneurs is really encouraging and is all part of the excellent work taking place throughout the county to help local people into employment.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

This event was organised by Communities First Flintshire with support from Flintshire County Council. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Continuing on from this event, Flintshire Enterprise Club whose members are all entrepreneurs, offers free information and workshops with inspirational speakers from various organisations and higher and further education establishment. The club is free to attend and meets every two weeks at the John Summers Community Campus, Chester Road East, Queensferry, Deeside CH5 1SE. The meetings take place every other Friday from 10.30 am until 12.30pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
