Holywell Library And Leisure Hub

The new Holywell Library and Leisure hub is now open for business. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Last year, Holywell Library received £120,000 funding from Welsh Government to help develop and enhance services. This allowed Flintshire County Council to move the library into the Leisure Centre to create a central hub offering a range of services. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Chris Bithell, who recently visited the new facility, said: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“This new state-of-the-art hub is very welcoming and will encourage and attract new users, especially young children with activity spaces, free Wi-Fi and learning spaces. People will be able to sit and read or access the computers while waiting for family members who are using other facilities at the centre.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

“Having the leisure centre and library in the same location has worked very well in Deeside and means that the centre can be open longer and customers can access a wider range of services in one convenient place.” ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
