Gwynedd Council Elects Chairman
In the annual Gwynedd Council meeting on 12 May, Councillor Eric Merfyn Jones (Y Groeslon) was elected Chairman of Gwynedd Council, with Councillor Annwen Daniels (Bowydd a Rhiw – Blaenau Ffestiniog) as Vice-Chair.
A Gwynedd Councillor for many years, and most recently since 2008, Councillor Eric Jones has also served as Chairman of the Communities Scrutiny Committee and a number of other committees in his time.
On his election as Gwynedd Council Chairman, Councillor Jones said:
“It is an honour and privilege to be elected as Gwynedd Council Chairman. I will do my best to serve all of Gwynedd’s during my year in the Chair.”
Councillor Annwen Daniels who is a member for the Bowydd a Rhiw ward in the Blaenau Ffestiniog area was elected as Vice-Chair.
