The £700,000 loan fund, established following a successful bid for Welsh Government funding has recently assisted Age Cymru Gwynedd a Mon to relocate their premises from Santes Helen Road to Pool Street in Caernarfon. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Financial assistance was provided through the Caernarfon Town Centre Loan Fund to make alterations to the Pool Street premises to facilitate the move. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Eleri Lloyd-Jones, Chief Officer of Age Cymru Gwynedd a Mon said: “We are very pleased to have received support from Gwynedd Council’s Caernarfon Town Centre Loan Fund to assist with the purchase and improvements to the Pool Street premises. In a period where public funding is much reduced, the availability of funding initiatives like this is of great importance to small local businesses.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Councillor Mandy Williams-Davies, Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member for Economy and Community noted: “It’s great to see that property owners in the area are making the most of the funding that is available to improve the condition of buildings in the town centre. As a Council, we have been working closely with partners over the years to ensure the regeneration of the area, and the loans available certainly provide an excellent opportunity for businesses and residents to renovate buildings in the Caernarfon town centre area. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“We would urge anyone who believes they may be eligible to contact the Council’s business support team, and officers will be on-hand to advise you about the fund.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Caernarfon Town Centre Loan Fund is an interest-free loan available to property owners in the centre of Caernarfon to complete improvements or to make use of existing vacant premises. The fund is administrated by Gwynedd Council and financed by the Welsh Government. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
