Sessions To Give The Welsh Language A Boost In The Community
Sessions to give the Welsh language a boost in the community
How much is the Welsh language used in your community? Is there a need for more Welsh events? Do you feel confident to stage these events?
These are some of the questions that will be considered is a series of events by Hunaniaith (Menter Iaith Gwynedd – Welsh language initiative) during February 2017. Three events will be held for community committees, halls, societies and any other interested party, that will look at ways of safeguarding the Welsh language.
The sessions will include presentations by Menna Jones, Antur Waunfawr and Dylan Bryn Roberts from the Popdy Centre in Bangor, as well as an opportunity to share ideas and good practice.
Dafydd Iwan, Hunaniaith Chairman who will lead the sessions said: “The aim of these informal sessions is to share information and to discuss with individuals and community groups ways of giving them confidence to make the Welsh language central to local activities, and to find ways of bringing those learning the language to be part of such activities.”
The sessions will be held at:
– 02 February: Canolfan Henblas, Y Bala: 6-8 pm
– 09 February: Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw: 2-4 pm
– 16 February: Antur Waunfawr: 6-8 pm
Anyone interested in attending one of the events to book a place in advance by 30 December.
