Don’t Forget To Respond To Get Your Vote
Over 30,000 households have not responded to the Annual Enquiry Form that has been sent to every address in Wrexham recently.
The Form shows who is currently registered to vote at the address and should be updated where necessary either online, by phone, text, or by writing on the Form and returning it in the pre-paid envelope provided.
You need to respond, even if there are no changes to make. If you don’t respond, a reminder will be sent to you, and the council may then send staff out to knock on doors to ask for the form to be completed which it is legally obligated to do.
Dr Helen Paterson, Electoral Registration Officer in Wrexham, said:
“It is everyone’s democratic right to vote once you reach the age of 18 but in order to vote you must be registered. The Form that has been sent out should have everyone on it who is over 16 years of age. Please return it as soon as possible.
“The local elections will be held in 2017 and if you’re not registered to vote you will not be able to vote in that election.”
