Wrexham Council’s Executive Board has approved amendments to the Local Development Plan (LDP) Preferred Strategy and the Plan will now go out to public consultation. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The Local Development Plan indicates how land throughout the County Borough could be used between 2013 and 2028. The LDP will replace the currently adopted Unitary Development Plan. The idea behind the LDP is to create a strategy that ensures long- term land use and development which will focus on achieving sustainable development and investment in the County Borough. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

This sustainable development will guide development for housing, employment, retail and other uses. Policies will be set out which will be used to decide planning applications and safeguard areas of land that require protection or enhancement. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Lead Member, Councillor David Kelly said: “I will be very pleased this proposal has been agreed which will go to public consultation from 12 February”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
