PLANS have been revealed for a Wrexham-based gym to relocate to a new premises.
RPM Health Fitness, which was first set up in 2004, is currently based at Wrexham Tennis Centre on Plas Coch Road.
However, the company run by Jonathon Patey and Gavin Rogers was recently served with an eviction notice by its landlords due to the closure of the building for improvement works.
The two Wrexham University graduates have now submitted an application to Wrexham Council which would see their business move to the Pandy Business Park.
The proposals would result in an empty industrial unit on Plas Acton Road being converted into a gym.
In a letter to the local authority, they said: “We have to find a new premises to be able to continue to provide our service locally and to benefit the health and wellbeing of our members, as well to support the continued viability of our business.
“In this unit, we feel we have found a facility fit for purpose with close proximity to the Wrexham Tennis Centre so our members can transition to the new location without affecting their current health and fitness regimes.
“We find the premises and location very suitable with the vast amount of parking that is on site and easy access from the A483.
“The unit has been vacant for over 12 months, so we feel it would be positive to the business park and local area, for the unit to be in a beneficial use.”
They added: “During our time at the Wrexham Tennis Centre, we have worked closely with various local personal trainers to help them provide a facility that they can train their clients on a pay as you go option, which most find feasible for their business to stay profitable.
“We look forward to working with you to adhere to any requirements necessary to assist with the change of usage, so we can carry on providing our members with a quality service with minimal disruption.”
A decision will be made on the application by the council at a later date. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
