Tenant Sends Card To Repairs Team As Thanks For Prompt Work
A WOMAN whose home received rapid repairs thanks to a council team praised their quick efforts.
Karen Humphreys, a 44 year old of Maesydre, needed repairs to her home after external walls were found to be damp.
Miss Humphreys had been experiencing excessive mould growth on several walls in her home due to cold spots on external walls.
In order to eradicate this, the existing plaster had to be removed and the walls lined with insulated plasterboard and re-plastered to make these surfaces warmer, thereby preventing future mould growth.
Miss Humphreys, who lives on Glan Garth, was very impressed with the repair team’s quick work.
She said: “I sent cards to say thankyou for their great work – they’ve done a cracking job. “The plastering had to be removed. My spare room and my son’s room were done as we had damp coming through.
“It took two days, tops – it was done as quickly as they came in.
“I was over the moon with them.” Carol Tinsley, Liaison Officer with the repairs team, said: “Wherever we can, we want to ensure repairs are done efficiently and with as little impact to the tenant as possible.
“The team did an excellent job in carrying out the work needed and Miss Humphreys was made up with their work. “We’re also incredibly pleased that she gave us a card – it’s very gratifying that our work has been so gratefully received and she’s taken the time to make such a nice gesture.”
Cllr Ian Roberts, Lead Member for Housing, said: “I’m very pleased that our teams have performed such a high standard of work, and that the quality of their work has received such a positive response from one of our tenants.
“Miss Humphreys’ card is very welcome and I’m sure the team welcomed it.”
