Christmas & New Year Waste & Recycling

Recycling and Refuse collections will be one day late during the Christmas period this year. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

If your collection day falls on:- ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Monday 26th 2016 it will be collected on Tuesday 27th December 2016;
Tuesday 27th December 2016 it will be collected on Wednesday 28th December 2016;
Wednesday 28th December 2016 it will be collected on Thursday 29th December 2016;
Thursday 29th December 2016 it will be collected on Friday 30th December 2016;
Friday 30th December 2016 it will be collected on Saturday 31st December 2016. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

From Monday 2nd January 2017 all collections will return to normal.
Recycling And Refuse Collections Nappy And Hygiene Collection Service ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Nappy and Hygiene sacks will be collected from the front of your property on:- ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Friday 23rd December 2016.
There will be no collection made on Friday 30th December 2016
From Friday 6th January 2017 weekly nappy and hygiene collections will resume. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Mobile Location for Disposal of Refuse ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Additional mobile locations are being set up on Saturday 31st December 2016 that will allow residents to drop off any black bag waste, wrapping paper or nappy and hygiene sacks. The mobile locations for residents will be at:
Tredegar – Lorry 1: ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Recycle Your Christmas Tree ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The Council’s Waste Department will be providing a service to collect and recycle your Christmas tree from Monday 9th January 2017. Please contact C2BG on 01495 311556 to register your details and arrange a day for a Christmas tree collection.
Household Waste And Recycling Centre, New Vale Civic Amenity site ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

New Vale Civic Amenity Site will be open during the Christmas and New Year period between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. for residents to dispose of waste material. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

The site will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day only. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

  • If residents require additional hessian sacks for recycling over the Christmas period, please contact C2BG on 01495 311556 as soon as possible to arrange delivery of the items. Alternatively, you can pick up hessian sacks at the Civic
  • Centre reception, Anvil Court reception and Central Depot Reception Brynmawr. Please could all residents ensure that any additional recycling that is put out is made visible for our crews to reduce the risk of it being left.
  • Christmas wrapping paper is not recyclable, please place in a black bag/bin for your 3-weekly refuse collection. Alternatively please dispose of your waste at a convenient mobile location on Saturday 31st December 2016.
  • Please recycle plain greetings cards only, unfortunately glitter, ribbons and badges are not recyclable and it will cause the card to be rejected.
  • Additional cardboard should be flat packed and placed at the side of your recycling receptacles.
  • Small electrical items, batteries and textiles can be collected weekly at the same time as your regular recycling collection. Please bag items and place either on top or to the side of your recycling receptacles.
