Maesteg town centre is being given a spring clean, a lick of paint, some new signage and a general makeover in time for summer.
Starting this week, all of the pavements on Commercial Street and Talbot Street will be deep cleaned, while the bins on both those streets will be replaced.
Anyone taking a rest between shops will have a choice of 15 new benches which are replacing older benches around the town centre.
The town hall is also being spruced up with colourful new window panels, while the market gates will be painted, the market stone is being cleaned, and new market signs will be installed too.
The work is being carried out by Bridgend County Borough Council using funding from Maesteg Town Council and the Maesteg town centre partnership, which is funded by Welsh Government.
