Bedwas Gymnastics Club has recently unveiled their brand new gymnastics facility located in Trecenydd Business Park, Caerphilly. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

In its 40th year, Bedwas Gymnastics Club has made the move out of Bedwas High School and into a new facility which offers a dedicated space for the club and its growing membership to develop. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The official launch of the new premises provided the perfect opportunity for supporters of the club to have a tour of the new facilities, see young gymnasts in session with young leaders and also to celebrate the success of Bedwas Gymnastics Club. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Over 300 children now participate in gymnastics classes within the club, which includes new daytime baby and toddler sessions – an increase of over 100 since the club moved to their new venue. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Thanks to £25,000 of funding from Sport Wales, Bedwas Gymnastics Club has also purchased new equipment including a coil-sprung floor, fast track and asymmetric bars. The funding has also enabled the team of coaches and sport leaders the opportunity to gain new qualifications. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Sally Corden, Director of Bedwas Gymnastics Club said: “Bedwas Gymnastics Club is 40 years old this year. It was founded on the basis of providing gymnastics to the local community and surrounding area. We are incredibly proud to be continuing this legacy and we owe a big thank you to all of our hard working and dedicated volunteers who are helping us to build a greater community”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services said: “Bedwas Gymnastics Club is a fantastic community resource which provides tuition to children of all ages who have an interest in gymnastics. I am delighted that they have been able to secure a fantastic new facility in which they can expand their club”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
