Blackwood Miners’ To Welcome New Creative Hub
Wales International Documentary Festival (WIDF) will launch the WIDF Digital Learning Centre at Blackwood Miners’ Institute next week (28 to 30 November).
The flagship project is supported by Caerphilly Regeneration Trust, Film Cymru BFI Connector Fund, Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Arts Development Team and Shoot From The Hip Film Productions.
WIDF Digital Learning Centre will be open all year round, and will promote digital inclusion, active citizenship and increase access and participation in the arts. The aim is to contribute to the economic, cultural and social regeneration of the region, to create employment and training opportunities in the creative industries for young people in Caerphilly county borough, and to deliver an all-year-round programme of activities that will promote the importance of gaining digital skills in the community.
People from across Caerphilly county borough are invited to come along and meet the team between 10am and 4pm on Monday 28, Tuesday 29 or Wednesday 30 November. The Creative Hub will provide up to date equipment and software as well as expert, bespoke advice for those wanting to build their skills in digital media.
The Creative Hub will also complement the International Documentary Film Festival that WIDF creates and produces in Blackwood each year.
