Caerphilly County Borough Council is seeking caring individuals who feel that they could offer a foster child a safe and caring home to get in touch and find out how they could transform a child’s life. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

When children are unable to live with their own family, Caerphilly Council’s Fostering Team seek safe and welcoming foster carers to offer a home for that child to stay in. When possible, the Team look for homes close to a child’s original location so that they can continue to attend the same school and leisure activities as well as remaining with the same group of friends. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Each child has their own individual background and needs and may require either a short term of long term place to live varying from weeks to years. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

*Amy* who was placed in a long term foster home said: “I first came into long term foster care when I was about 10 and when we were first introduced to my foster carers me and my sister were really nervous, but we started to go on day trips and to visit our long term house which made us feel at ease. I was so happy when we moved in; our foster carers were great and made us feel at home straight away. I don’t think I could ever repay them for giving me and my sister such a great start in life”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Caerphilly Council offers all foster carers excellent support which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is also training available to all foster carers, which can be tailored to develop and enhance any existing skills. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Caerphilly Council welcomes enquiries from any person who recognises and values the uniqueness of each child regardless of gender, marital status, disability, sexuality, employment status or whether their own their own home or rent. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
