There has been an increase in council tenants’ satisfaction of repair works undertaken across the Caerphilly county borough. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Caerphilly Homes team received 31,724 repair requests, including almost 7,500 emergency calls during the 2015/16 period. Of the tenants who responded to surveys of works undertaken 63% found the quality of service and communication and co-operation of staff involved was excellent, whilst 33% stated quality of service was good. No tenants responded to say that the overall rating they would give the services was poor. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The increase in satisfaction is the result of a number of changes to the ways requests are received and handled. An increased number of staff now undertake mobile working, which is being rolled out to include a pre-inspection for larger scale repairs. Increasingly residents are choosing and being encouraged to report a repair electronically, via email, to streamline the administration system and allocation of repair works to the correct member of staff. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cllr. Dave Poole, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing said: “Ensuring Caerphilly Homes are kept to the highest standard is extremely important to Caerphilly County Borough Council. I am pleased to see that an increased number of tenants are satisfied with the quality and timeliness of the repairs undertaken.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
