Countdown To Caerphilly Christmas Market
Come on down to Caerphilly this weekend and soak up the festive atmosphere at the town’s popular annual Christmas Market.
A feast of festive fun will be on offer for the whole family to enjoy. The event will be held on Saturday 10th December from 9am until 5pm and Sunday 11th December from 10am until 4pm.
Caerphilly county borough council is hoping to build on the success of last weekend’s Christmas Market in Blackwood, which attracted over 10,000 visitors. This was a 17% increase in visitors from last year’s event.
Santa will be ready and waiting in Caerphilly in his special grotto at the ‘Love Caerphilly’ shop, greeting children of all ages with a special gift. There will be a small charge of £3.50 per child.
Over 100 traders will be at the Christmas market, providing a range of stalls selling festive treats for all. The market will provide the perfect place to find that special gift; selling jewellery, crafts, Christmas decorations, scarves, bottled ales and a wide selection of food produce. To support the market the monthly Farmers Market and Craft Fair will also be open for the both days.
For the little ones Punch and Judy will be visiting the market to put on a show in the Crafty Corner Marquee. Children can enjoy making a selection of crafts from bird feeders to decorating gingerbread men. There will also be donkey rides, a reindeer display and a birds of prey stand throughout the day.
Other entertainment on offer will include music in the ‘Christmas Cwtch Corner’ marquee provided by Recrock. Entertainment will be on offer throughout the day for visitors to enjoy alongside mulled wine and mince pies, providing visitors with the perfect opportunity to unwind and relax.
Additional entertainment and attractions will take place in the castle where normal admission will apply.
