Cwmfelinfach Pupils Celebrate Platinum Status
Pupils at Cwmfelinfach Primary School have proven their green credentials after being awarded a top eco award.
Cwmfelinfach Primary has been awarded the prestigious Platinum Flag Award after previously gaining three Green Flag Awards thanks to the environmental education programme, Eco-Schools.
As part of their Eco-Schools Platinum assessment, Cwmfelinfach Primary did a whole school Eco Assembly for the assessor Mr Tim Wort, showing progress in the 9 Eco-Schools topic areas, since starting in 2007.
Mrs Carrie Dark said: “We have a fantastic Eco Committee here at Cwmfelinfach Primary and we have all worked very hard to achieve the Platinum award. We are very lucky to have ex-pupils and Eco Committee members return for the after school club run every week. Their continued support is very much appreciated. ”
Cllr Derek Havard, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning said: “Congratulations to Cwmfelinfach Primary School for achieving the prestigious platinum Eco Flag award. I am delighted that the school’s hard work has paid off, well done to everyone involved”.
