Families Get Creative At Lantern Making Workshops
With the festivities of the Christmas season now in full flow, families are invited to get their creativity flowing this weekend at the last in the series of FREE lantern making workshops.
Almost 200 ‘Traditional Christmas’ themed lanterns were made at workshops last weekend in readiness for Caerphilly’s annual River of Light Lantern Parade, which takes place this year on Thursday 22nd December at 6.30pm.
Caerphilly Leisure Centre will host the last of this year’s FREE lantern making workshops this Saturday 17th December and Sunday 18th December between 10am and 5pm.
The ever-popular annual River of Light Lantern Parade on Thursday 22nd December will see hundreds of lanterns light up the streets of Caerphilly town centre as the colourful procession, beginning at the Caerphilly Railway Station Park and Ride, makes its way through town – lighting up Station Terrace, Cardiff Road and St Fagans Street, as the parade makes its way to the finale on Crescent Road.
The parade will end with a spectacular fireworks display over Caerphilly Castle.
