The countdown is on to the start of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s festive events programme, with the annual Ystrad Mynach Festive Fayre set to descend on the town on Saturday 19th November. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The annual event will see a selection of food and craft stalls sell gifts from Christmas decorations, homeware and jewellery to tasty bakes and traditional festive treats, run the length of Bedwlwyn Road between 10am and 5pm. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The perfect opportunity to make a start on that Christmas shopping, Ystrad Mynach promises to offer a fantastic selection of stalls, as well as the great range of independent town centre shops the town has to offer. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Also on offer is entertainment aplenty – entertainment ranging from reindeer, birds of prey, face painting, a festive treasure hunt, dance groups and funfair rides, as well as a dress up nativity scene and some fantastic street theatre. The main feature of the event though is the entertainment stage, offering a feast of local bands and choirs singing traditional Christmas carols. Watch, listen and be merry while visitors browse and get into the festive spirit. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

And as children wait patiently for Santa’s arrival, Siloh Christian Centre will be host to a grotto for just £1 per child, offering children the chance to update Father Christmas on their toy list requests while receiving a special gift from the man himself. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The finale of the event is the Christmas light switch on at 4.45pm outside Siloh Christian Centre – there may even be a flurry or two of snow to set the scene. The event is organised by Gelligaer Community Council and is supported by Caerphilly County Borough Council. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
