Food Festival To Celebrate ‘A Year Of Legends’

Caerphilly town centre will once again play host to the ever-popular Caerphilly Food Festival on Saturday 6th May. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Back for its sixth year and after the success of last year’s event, thousands of people are expected to descend on the town centre to enjoy all the festival has to offer between 10am and 5pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Over 100 stall holders will tempt visitor’s taste budge with samples of their delicious goods to try and buy – along with a wide range of unique crafts. This year the event will also feature exciting demonstrations from Broil King BBQ Theatre and some top class cake decorating workshops. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

There’ll be plenty on offer for the little ones too, with numerous activities scheduled for throughout the day, including puppet shows and workshops, animal displays and craft workshops. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Among the demonstrations and workshops, walkabout acts and street shows will be parading the town, entertaining the crowds, as well as RecRock Music who will offer live performances from local singers and groups. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

This year’s event will also celebrate Visit Wales ‘Year of Legends’ and will be host to acts including Tommy Cooper tributes, Welsh musicians, Tom Jones tributes and legendary mythical dragons! ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

And as if that wasn’t enough, Cadw is also offering two for one entry into Caerphilly Castle during the festival, with the cheapest entrant going free. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
