Four Caerphilly Borough Leisure Centres Celebrate National Recognition
Did you know four leisure centres in the Caerphilly borough are nationally recognised?
Caerphilly, Heolddu, Newbridge and Risca leisure centres have all achieved a prestigious quality award.
The leisure centres were assessed on their different sections, including health and safety and hygiene and customer care, through a number of mystery visits and on-site assessments.
Sian Jones, Area Manager said, “The reason we do this is to show our leisure centres are great to attend and have been quality assured through a national award.”
The ‘Quest’ award is the UK quality scheme for Sport and Leisure and can be used as a tool to improve the management of leisure facilities and leisure development. Quest uses the industry standards and good practice to encourage development and delivery to all leisure facilities.
Chris Eatwell, Fitness Instructor said, “Caerphilly borough Sports and Leisure Services focus strongly on the level of service we provide our customers. With ongoing investments, we aim to create a fun, effective and a quality experience at all our leisure centres. Having this accreditation for Caerphilly, Heolddu, Newbridge and Risca shows we are heading in the right direction.”
Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services said, “Congratulations to the four leisure centres that have achieved this nationally recognised award. To be recognised for this prestigious achievement demonstrates how well our leisure centres are being operated by staff that are committed to deliver a quality service for customers.”
