Fun Activities For Your Children This Summer In Caerphilly County Borough

We still have plenty more activities available this week for you and your family to join in and enjoy, from activity days to craft clubs, there is something for everyone. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Junior Rangers will be holding its third session of the summer on Wednesday 17 August at Cwmcarn Forest. The warden has organised fun activities for young explorers to join in, whilst learning about the animals and flowers that live throughout the valley. Mini Rangers, for ages 4-6, will be held from 10am until 11am and Junior Rangers is suitable for ages 7-11 and will be held from 1pm-3pm. Spaces are limited so please book to avoid disappointment. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Each week the Winding House is holding a fun and interactive workshop for children to learn about different eras throughout history. This week sees the medieval era brought to life through different activities and games. There is no booking required for the workshop and it is free entry, so just drop in on Wednesday 17 August at 11am until 1pm. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

If your children don’t mind getting messy, they can create their very own flower power seed bombs. Held in Cwmcarn Forest, on Thursday 18 August, the activity will involve getting their hands stuck in mixing clay with compost and seeds. The session begins at 10am until 12:45pm and will cost £4.50 per child. Please bring an empty egg box so the creations can be taken home. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Superheroes are coming to save the day at Llancaiach Fawr Manor on Thursday 18 August. The superhero themed children’s activity day is sure to be jam packed full of activities for all ages, including a disco, bouncy castle and face painting from 11am until 4pm. On entry, prices are £5 per child and free for the first adult with additional adults only paying £1. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Are your children fascinated by bugs? Come along to Parc Cwm Darran on Friday 19 August, where they can learn about the different varieties of bugs that live in gardens at home and their hibernation patterns. The activity will begin at 11am until 3pm. Tickets cost £5 per child. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Craft club is back at the Winding House and this week we will be getting messy with papier mache. On Friday 19 August, between 11am and 12pm, the Winding House will be inspiring children to get creative by making their own bejewelled goblet. Booking is essential and will cost £2.50 per child; all children must be accompanied by an adult. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​

Come along to an afternoon of traditional brass band performances by the Crosskeys Silver Band at Tredegar Park, Risca or Oakdale Silver Band at Parc Cwm Darran. Both performances will be held between 2:30pm and 5pm on Sunday 21 August. Brass on the Grass is suitable for all the family to enjoy our parks whilst listening to the wonderful music. ‌​‌​‌​​​‍‌​‌​​‌‌‌‍‌​‌‌​​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌‌​​
